For National Disability Awareness Day, Solve Cyvc had the honour of participating in an exciting event – a day of wheelchair basketball hosted by the remarkable charity, Breakin' Barriers.
This special day was aptly named 'Whyatt Day,' and it held a deeper meaning.
'Whyatt Day' got its name from the incredible journey of a young man named Whyatt, whom Breakin' Barriers founder, Fidel Thompson, has been supporting and guiding.
Fidel's commitment to breaking down barriers in Whyatt's life is truly inspiring.
The event was a unique blend of celebration and awareness raising. It was an opportunity to highlight the achievements of Whyatt and shed light on the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
But that's not all; we were joined by the fantastic team from 'Positive Stepz' who brought along their inspirational young people from Huddersfield. This collaboration made the event even more special and impactful.
With boundless energy and enthusiasm, we all had an absolute blast on 'Whyatt Day.' It was a day that not only promoted inclusivity but also showcased incredible talents. And to top it all off, the young folks got to meet the one and only Troy Deeney!
Our heartfelt thanks go out to Breakin' Barriers and Positive Stepz for creating this special and beautiful day. It was a true celebration of Whyatt's achievements and a step towards a more inclusive and accepting society.
In summary, 'Whyatt Day' was a fun-filled, yet professionally organised event that exemplified the power of community support and the importance of raising awareness about the challenges and triumphs of individuals with disabilities.
It was an unforgettable day of celebration and inclusivity!
